Complete Collagen features Ovitage® Kinetic comprised of bioactive peptides derived from whole ovine (sheep) skin waste.† This is produced using a proprietary process that isolates all of the skin’s important components, including cystine rich structural proteins and peptides from the hair follicle, as well as antioxidant-rich peptides from within the skin itself. This is substantially different composition to the conventional collagen I and III common in traditional bovine and marine collagen products. The result is a protein powder rich in amino acids essential for maintaining hair, skin and nail structure and providing optimized precision nutrition for hair, skin and nail health.

Hair – Ovitage® Kinetic contains bioactive peptides extracted from the hair follicle which are characteristically rich in the amino acid cystine, stabilized and made bioavailable in an oxidized form. Peptides rich in this oxidized form of cystine have been shown to stimulate production of collagen IV, the essential junctional protein in the hair follicle that holds hair in the head, improving follicle anchoring and reducing hair fall and hair loss. This has been demonstrated in clinical studies with up to 46.6% reduction in hair fall reported in women aged 40-71..

Skin Structure & Health – Ovitage® Kinetic ovine bioactive peptides go beyond conventional bovine or marine collagens that have been shown in clinical trials to improve skin hydration, elasticity and smoothness. The unique peptides in Ovitage® arising from the hair follicle have been shown to stimulate keratinocytes, the cells in the outer layer of the skin and essential in wound healing, to help improve skin barrier function and promote healing. Further, these cells express increased amounts of collagen IV, a protein essential at the dermal-epidermal junction that is required for skin firmness and prevention of wrinkle formation. Peptide sequencing has identified specific sequence signatures in Ovitage® Kinetic known to demonstrate antioxidant activity within skin cells, providing peptide-based protection from oxidative stress. This antioxidant protection is further boosted by glutathione synthesis within skin cells.

Nail Health – The bioactive peptides in Ovitage® Kinetic provide the essential nutritional building blocks for strong and healthy nails. Conventional bovine or marine collagen contains no cystine, whereas Ovitage® Kinetic contains 6.1g/100g. Further nutritional balance is provided by high concentrations of arginine and threonine, also higher in Ovitage® compared to conventional collagen.
